Ozothamnus ‘Strawberry Cream’ is a small and hardy Australian native shrub that will add impact to any garden or patio with its prolific display of dark pink flower buds on large flower heads which open to pink and fade to cream. Flowering from autumn through to spring and into summer, the flowering stems make great cut flowers. Ozothamnus ‘Strawberry Cream’ is the result of careful cross breeding and selection based on the Australian native species, Ozothamnus diotophyllus and Ozothamnus diosmifolius.
Use: Excellent for mass plantings or as a feature plant in the garden, pots or tubs in a full sun to part shade situation. As a cut flower, harvest stems just before the flower buds begin to open. Can be grown in all mainland Australian states in both coastal and inland situations in well drained soils. Tolerates drought and light frost once established.
Flowering: Autumn through to Spring/Summer
Habit: A small, bushy and hardy perennial shrub to about 1.5 m high and 0.7 m wide.
Care: Easy to grow and requires little water once established. Water well at planting and gradually reduce watering during establishment.
